RECOVERY WARRIORS

Goals and Objectives
- Heighten awareness of the public-at-large regarding the value of recovery and how Warriors in recovery are part of the solution
- Demonstrate to the recovery community and the USA how diverse, widespread, passionate, positive, committed, and connected Warriors in Recovery are
- Shift the focus of the ravages of mental health barriers and addiction from “the problem” to “the solution”
- Connect Warriors and Warrior focused organizations across the USA from all Recovery pathways
- Celebrate the Warriors Recovery Experience
Raise awareness that there are many pathways to recovery – no “wrong doors”
Offer hope to all Warriors (and their loved-ones) regarding the power and value of recovery
Colorado Springs is home 5 military installations which include the National Guard, 111,000 active military service members and around 90,000 veterans.
Peer Coaching
One-on-one coaching by a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist. Individuals will develop a wellness plan and work towards self-determined goals with a warrior in long-term recovery.
Group Support
SRC offers two weekly groups that foster connection and community. Join us for a one-hour weekly meeting facilitated by a fellow warrior. Our group is completely confidentiality and prioritizes anonymity for warriors struggling with SUD. This is a safe and dedicated space to speak freely, receive support, and establish a foundation of recovery unique to you.
Unwind and heal with a one-hour weekly yoga class hosted by a trauma-trained veteran from our partner agency, The Phoenix.
Specialized Trainings
SRC Training Academy provides a Veterans Training Course (6 CEU) designed to prepare the Peer Recovery workforce to respond to the unique needs of veterans and the military workforce.

How SRC Can Help You
Serenity Recovery Connection knows first-hand the unique and extraordinary barriers warriors face in gaining and maintaining recovery. We can help those in need by finding support for themselves, and family members of Veterans—spouses, children, siblings—who may be dealing with caretaking and other reintegration issues, including relationship issues with the Veteran.
The Barriers We Help You Overcome
- Finding employment
- Dealing with a loss of purpose and isolation after leaving the military.
- Navigating the complex and confusing network of benefits, services and support that is available to Veterans.
- Long wait times to receive benefits from the VA
- Coping with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and/or major depression that are prevalent among Veterans
