In Colorado Springs alone there are, 5 military installations which include the National Guard, 111,000 active military service members and around 90,000 veterans. The unique pressures and experiences of our military service members are countless. To be the leaders in recovery care for our military, SRC delivers a highly informed and effective Veterans Training. This course is designed to prepare the Peer Recovery workforce to respond to all of the needs of veterans and the military workforce.

Upon course completion, Recovery Warrior Peer Coaches will:
Understand the prevalence of substance use disorder within the veteran communities.
Develop veteran-specific cultural competencies, and identify the different levels of trauma that affect veterans.
Build a list of community based resources available to veterans.
Identify individualized solutions to prevent relapse (PTSD, mental health, health & wellness, employment barriers, etc.)
