Wellbriety
The Wellbriety Movement was founded by Don Coyhis to integrate the unique wisdom of Native American practices into Recovery modalities. Wellbriety creates opportunities for individuals, families, communities and nations to live sober, healthy lives that are balanced emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually.
The Wellbriety Movement established the Four Laws of Change and the Healing Forest Model to address alcoholism, addictions, and social issues from a ‘symptoms’ based perspective. Wellbriety addresses the underlying spiritual and cultural issues such as anger, guilt, shame and fear, that contribute to the onset of addictive behaviors. This pathway to recovery allows individuals to dive deep into the process of intergenerational healing, forgiveness, and acknowledging personal change.
“Meaningful change comes from inside us. It cannot be forced from outside the individual or be foreign to the community if it is to have a positive and lasting effect. All permanent and lasting change starts on the inside and works its way out.
