Recovery Hero: Liz

My name is Liz and I have been in Recovery for almost 7 years!

In this time I have been blessed with 2 beautiful children, was able to seal some of my record, obtained my GED and began my career in the medical field. The greatest accomplishment out of it all though, was learning how to actually live life, not just surviving it.I had hit an all time low when I lost my childhood best friend due to her addiction and allowed it to become my excuse for plummeting into depression and heavy addiction. I had no one on my side anymore, didn’t care what had or might happen to me, and truly was hoping for a way to end it all.

Today I am beginning to give back to my community by working with Memory Care Individuals, working with SRC, becoming a Recovery coach, and focusing on working my way towards achieving a Addiction Counselor! I can’t get enough of doing what makes a difference in others lives and have no plans to stop anytime soon!
