Recovery Hero Joel McCelland

My name is Joel McClelland, I’ve been in recovery for 65 days. During this time, my proudest accomplishment is gaining custody of my amazing newborn son. My lowest point before recovery had to be about a year ago when I was living on the streets getting high and drunk everyday. This involved stealing from any store possible just to eat and stay high. I had pushed away all of my family and friends to the point I thought I had lost them forever. I’m still early in my recovery so a lot of what I do is focus on God, my son, and myself. Today, I’d like to think and hope that people(my past friends) who are still struggling with their addictions can see that recovery is possible.
