What Is A Recovery Community Organization?

Recovery Community Organizations (RCOs)  are central hubs for recovery-focused policy efforts,  advocacy activities, community education and outreach programs.  RCOs are demonstrating leadership in their towns, cities and states as well as on the national landscape. Many are also providing peer-based recovery support services. While RCOs are independent, they share a recovery vision. They aim to serve as a bridge between diverse communities of recovery, addiction treatment community, governmental agencies, the criminal justice system, and the larger network of health and human services providers.

Serenity Recovery Connection (SRC) offers peer support for recovery from substance use disorder and peer support training in a non-clinical, community-based setting. We also offer public education, and we provide family support training. SRC does not provide detox services, prescribe medications, or operate as a licensed treatment facility.
