Volunteer and Internships

Close to 110,000 Americans lost their lives to overdoses in 2022. This is the highest number of lives lost to overdose ever recorded. We are on a mission to solve the epidemic and we need your expertise to make recovery a reality for our community.

By volunteering with SRC, you give another person the courage to thrive in recovery.

Becoming an Intern at Serenity Recovery Connection

Suppose you’d like to advance your career after volunteering. In that case, Serenity Recovery Connection, in partnership with the Pikes Peak Workforce Center and Goodwill Re-Hire, offers an internship program for those ready to turn their recovery journey into a career. Become a Peer Recovery Coach and gain the hands-on skills to make a difference in our community—turn your life experience into expertise.

Over 10–11 weeks, you’ll receive real-world practice in recovery support along with  SRC’s Peer Recovery Course Core Training, which is essential for CPFS certification through COPA and the nationally recognized Peer Recovery Support Specialist credential from NAADAC. You’ll still need to complete 500 hours of work or volunteering to qualify for CPFS certification from COPA, and this cannot be done in less than 6 months.

Requirements:

  •  Lived experience in recovery or ally experience with family addiction
  • Openness to multiple pathways to recovery
  • Minimum of two years of sustained recovery
  • Must complete 90 days as an SRC volunteer and be recommended by the volunteer coordinator
  • Qualification through an internship partner and a successful interview with SRC

Limited positions available.
